Is it just me or does playing retro video games bring back a bunch of childhood memories? In this episode, I speak with Ben, who started the Power Up! Retro Video Game Convention in Huntington, WV. We talk about the thought process when it comes to starting a convention as well as some funny stories (spoiler alert: poop).
The convention is a great one, and I recommend visiting it if you can. The other important thing I would like to point out is The Standard Nerds podcast and everything they are doing at the convention and on their free time for their Extra-Life fundraising. Extra-Life is an event where gamers will play for 24 hours non-stop to raise money for children in the hospital for games and such for them to help them take their mind off what they are going through in their life. Another group to check out is the D20 Girls! They are a big supporter of the convention and help Ben out! Please consider donating to their cause! As always, thanks for listening and enjoy the show!
